Legal London Visit
17th November 2004 Once again law lecturers Darran Chapple and Muazzama Ahmed braved an early start to the day to take forty lucky students exploring legal London.

On this occasion the students spent the morning in the Old Bailey (the Central Criminal Court) and the Royal Courts of Justice (Court of Appeal), where they observed, among other matters, appeals against sentence.

The students were given the afternoon to explore for themselves. Many remained in court to listen to the hearings in the afternoon session.
Meanwhile other students explored the Inns of Court and some joined our brave lecturers as they reached new heights for Bradford Law School by taking a flight on the London Eye.
Being in the vicinity of Parliament, this small elite group couldn't resist exploring the Parliament buildings and finished their tour by observing a debate in the House of Commons.
Seeing a debate in Parliament which resolved around who, Government or opposition, was to take the credit for making an amendment to an environmental regulation Bill was an interesting experience.
Then it was back to the Middle Temple, the Inn of Court which has many notable members, including Lecturer and barrister Darran!
The evening meal was delightful, the atmosphere of the packed Hall electric and the after dinner music rounded of the evening beautifully before this weary group departed on the long journey home.
