Bradford College has a long history of providing legal education which stems from delivery of A level law and the Foundation Degree in Law and Legal Practice, to established degree programmes, such as the LLB(Hons), BA (Hons) Accountancy and Law, BA (Hons) Social Welfare and Law, BA(Hons)Marketing and Law, as well as delivering law in other areas such as ILEX (Institute for Legal Executives), CLC (Council for Licensed Conveyancers) and CMS (Certificate for Mature students / Access to HE) courses. This comprehensive College portfolio enables students of varying abilities the opportunity to study a full law programmes or just specific aspects of law, to study at an academic level suitable and comfortable to the their own ability and personal or professional needs, as well as enabling the student to progress their legal education from FE into HE within the one institution. This in turn enables them to continue to work with the social and academic support systems that they have built up over time and with which they are comfortable and familiar.
The diverse range of legal education opportunities at Bradford College provides the widest range of opportunities “to help students from the region, nationally and internationally achieve their potential and make a rewarding and positive contribution to their own communities” (College Mission Statement) and, through building long term social and academic systems, supports all students in achieving their full potential, especially those with disabilities or special needs for whom continuity in support is essential.
Our students benefit from robust academic standards and participation in extra curricular events including speakers, visits, mooting and negotiating competitions. Local and national law firms sponsor substantial prizes for our top performers as they have been so impressed by the calibre of our students and the quality of our degree and professional courses.
We have many recent success stories, not least that in 2008/9 Bradford Law School CLC Students achieved a 100% pass rate in Contract, Land and Conveyancing!
